E. Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Builds Channel Crossing in Kelapa Dua Wetan

The East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency, last Monday (5/6), started building a channel crossing on Jalan Rawa Baboon, RT 10/04, Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village, Ciracas.

It is targeted for completion in ten days ahead

Ciracas Sub-district SDA Task Force Coordinator, Deby said the construction of a crossing four meters long and 1.5 meters deep is a follow-up to the residents' proposal submitted through Musrenbang.

According to him, his party used box culvert material measuring 80x80 centimeters to replace the old material which only measured 40x40 centimeters.

"The previous channel was too small and unable to accommodate the flow of water during heavy rain, causing it to overflow onto the road," he stated, Wednesday (5/8).

He explained the work involved as many as eight personnel and one unit of heavy equipment. During construction, road access was temporarily closed and diverted to another road.

"It is targeted for completion in ten days ahead," he explained.

RW 04 Chairman, Kelapa Dua Wetan, Tugimin uterred his party proposed repairing this channel crossing because it was no longer able to accommodate the flow of water during heavy rain, so it often caused flooding in residential areas of RT 10 and 11.

"Hopefully, it can minimize flooding when it rains," he concluded.
